Currently marked Temporarily Closed on Google Maps, Miami Beach Chilean restaurant Pedro’s Resto-Bar appears to be going through a transition toward becoming a new concept. Plan review paperwork submitted by Samrose LLC shows a new restaurant called Patiperros opening in the space at 1971 71st Street.

Patiperros appears to be continuing the Chilean theme at the restaurant. “Patiperro” is a Chilean word for a “globetrotter” or “avid journeyer.” It remains to be seen how this additional theme of traveling the globe might fit into a new menu at the restaurant, causing it differ from the one served at Pedro’s.

Paperwork for Patiperros was submitted by owner Steve Polisar. What Now reached out to Polisar on Tuesday to inquire about Patiperros’ plans for opening and the details of its menu. Polisar was not immediately available for comment.

The Pedro’s Resto-Bar space is situated near the intersection with Verdun Court, near Walgreen. A little further (or rather, further back) on 71st Street is another restaurant, Makla Halal, situated near the Miami Beach Welcome Sign.

Stay tuned for updates as more details about Patiperros are revealed.
