According to a plan review filed with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken is opening another outfit in Sunrise.
The Sawgrass Mills shopping center website lists the Popeyes as “coming soon,” but no mention of the new location can be found under the brand’s locations page. What Now attempted to reach out to the restaurant management group who filed the plan review, but as of now, has not heard back. When the location will open is unclear.
According to the plan review, the address will be 12801 W Sunrise Boulevard, unit F847. Located in the mall, the unit will neighbor eateries like: P. F. Chang’s, Burger King and Wetzel’s Prezels, among many others.
The brand started in 1972, when the first location was opened in a suburb of New Orleans. Four years later, the first franchised locations opened in Louisiana. Fast-forward to now, there are over 3,400 locations open, as of 2020.
