Founded by Andreas Schreiner, Jose Mendin, and Sergio Navarro, Pubbelly Sushi is growing fast in its South Florida home. The chain opened its first Broward County location in Pembroke Pines last month, and it has plans to open three more spots this year, in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach, notes recent coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Pubbelly offers a Brunch Menu that features fusion dishes like Korean Chicken & Waffles, the Breakfast Bao Bun, and Pubbelly Crispy Lox. The dinner menu has included shareables like Korean Bravas, French Onion Miso Soup, and Tuna Tartare. It has served up entrees like Miso Black Cod with charred spring onions and Grilled Octopus with spicy lemongrass and crispy garlic.

The sushi menu features a selection of sashimi and nigiri choices, which have included Bigeye Tuna Sashimi with burrata, heirloom tomatoes, basil ponzu, and olive oil, and Crispy Yellowtail nigiri with black truffle yuzu soy, frites, and chives.

What Now reached out to Jose Mendin on Friday to inquire about the timeline for the chain’s Fort Lauderdale and other locations. Mendin was not immediately available for comment.
