West Palm Beach will soon be home to the flagship location of Pumphouse Coffee Roasters. Pumphouse is a local wholesale coffee roaster that has worked, since opening in April 2016, to make specialty coffee accessible to everyone in South Florida. To that end, the brand is launching an all-in-one roastery, cafe, and training lab in an 8,000 square foot space at 1016 Clare Ave, where guests will be able to observe the production floor while sipping on a delicious cup of Pumphouse Coffee.
“We’re going to have all our wholesale production on full display,” Co-Founder Christian Le Clainche told What Now in a phone call one Wednesday. “The space was once a completely interior loading dock for an old mattress production facility. So our retail space, our seating space, is going to look over the whole production floor.”
Also visible will be the 1,200 foot training lab where Pumphouse will work with wholesale partners—local cafes, restaurants, bars, and the like—helping them perfect the process of preparing Pumphouse coffee.
“We’ll also be able to open it to the public to do coffee brewing courses and really showcase to our customers all the lessons you can learn with specialty coffee.”
The location has been in the works for about two years, undergoing a process Le Clainche describes as “monumental,” with complications on the municipal side arising as a result of the space’s unique plan.
After this years-long process, Le Clainche says, “we’re getting excited to finally approach our grand opening timeline. The sensory elements of our space are going to create a very unique experience.”
Pumphouse doesn’t yet have a hard and fast Grand Opening date, but it is expected to open its doors in late fall 2022.
