RA Sushi is bringing their inventive sushi and innovative cocktails to Plantation next year! Benihana Inc. announced late last month plans to expand in select markets, including South Florida, according to recent reports

In 2023, look out for RA Sushi at 333 North University Drive next to Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale Plantation. The new location will be over 3,800 square-feet, large enough to accommodate 34 tables, a full-service sushi bar, plus a takeout station.

RA Sushi’s Plantation restaurant was announced in conjunction with an incoming Benihana planned for Wellington. Benihana is a Japanese-American teppanyaki-style restaurant whose corporate offices are in Aventura. Both restaurants look forward to employing at least 100 people each.

RA Sushi was founded in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1997 and acquired by Benihana, Inc. in 2002. Considering Benihana’s reputation as an interactive dining experience, in which teppanyaki chefs cook your meal at your table, RA Sushi’s lively atmosphere and sushi-forward menu were the perfect acquisition for their portfolio. In addition to these two restaurants, Benihana Inc. also owns Samurai and Haru.

There is currently a RA Sushi restaurant in Pembroke Pines. For more information, visit rasushi.com.

Correction: An earlier version of this article noted that there are RA Sushi locations in Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Miami Gardens, and Miramar. These are virtual Delivery Only locations.
