Portland, Oregon-based artisanal ice cream brand Salt & Straw is preparing to open its third South Florida location. This time, the brand is headed to Miami Beach, opening a new ice cream shop at the intersection between Meridian Avenue and Lincoln Road.

Already operating locations in Wynwood and Coconut Grove, Salt & Straw is branching out to bring South Florida still more of its 12 classic flavors (including Miami favorites like Panther Coffee Tres Leches and Salty Donut Guava + Cheese), plus revolving menus of five new flavors released every month. For October, these will be the SCREAM series, featuring the following flavors:

  • The Great Candycopia – Homemade Kit Kats, Reeses, Snickers, Heath bars folded into a diabolically delicious salted butterscotch ice cream
  • Don Bugito’s Creepy Crawly Critters – Matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and chocolate crickets (yes, real bugs from America’s first edible bug farm!)
  • Jack o’Lantern Pumpkin Bread – Tender hunks of just-baked pumpkin bread and swaths of whipped cream cheese frosting in a pumpkin spiced ice cream
  • Black Cat Licorice & Lavender – A silky, pitch-dark anise and fennel caramel with luminous salted lavender ice cream
  • Double Bubble Toil & Trouble (v) – Two spices and three fruits combined in a coconut cream for the perfect concoction that tastes just like bubble gum

You can check out Salt and Straw’s flavors on Halloween, October 31, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the special preview pop-up being held at the ice cream shop’s future location at the Merdian-Lincoln intersection.

“Salt & Straw was born to create community gathering places and we’ve become known for reflecting that through our unexpected menu and storytelling,” said Kim Malek, CEO and Founder of Salt & Straw, in a press release.  “We are so excited to bring our ice cream to the incredible mix of chefs and new restaurants opening on Lincoln Road and become part of the SoBe community.”
