Shooters Waterfront, a popular and elegant dining location along the intracoastal waterway, has recently acquired the property next door to them for a future concept. What Now on Tuesday connected with owner Meghan Leckey to get the available details.

Formerly Flip Flops, a known and loved party and karaoke spot at 3051 NE 32nd Ave, closed on March 20, according to an article from baristasycafe.com. Shortly after they closed, the property was acquired by the next-door Shooter’s Waterfront for $4.5 million. Now, Leckey is planning what to do with the space.

“We are still in the development phase of what we’re going to do, but it will be a continuation of Shooter’s, in some capacity,” Leckey told What Now. Waiting on permits to be approved, Leckey said that they are currently “at the mercy of all of that,” and doesn’t have an opening date to share right now.

In an Instagram post, a photo of a banner reads: COMING LATE 2023.

Shooter’s was founded in 1982 and quickly became a hotspot around the Fort Lauderdale area. However, in 2014, Leckey and her father, William McIntyre, purchased the restaurant. After a multi-million dollar renovation, the concept was transformed from a late-night party location to an elegant dining concept.
