Founded in Palm Beach Gardens in 2020 by Chef Pushkar Marathe and partner Andy Dugard, Stage Kitchen and Bar is “an integrated, small-plates experience, inspired by diverse culinary influences from across the world. Discover innovative dishes interwoven with tradition, utilizing fresh and often local ingredients that come together in vital, new and flavorful ways.”
Stage’s name, which is pronounced Staahj, denotes “a culinary intern evolving their palette and skills through experiences in different kitchens around the world.” Accordingly, its chef, Pushkar Marathe has built experience working with chefs like Dean Max and Niven Patel at restaurants from the Caribbean, to the United States, to the Middle East.
“The way I see Stage is like it’s a big tree. The branches are my travels all over the world, but the roots are deep in India,” says a statement by the chef on the Stage website’s About page.
Stage is now expanding, taking its “Indian-inspired” cuisine to Boca Raton’s Restaurant Row, says recent coverage by the South Florida Business Journal. The Restaurant Row Stage location encompasses about 5,200 square feet and is expected to open before the end of 2024, the coverage says.
What Now reached out to Andy Dugard on Monday to inquire about plans for the opening. Dugard could not be reached immediately for comment.
