On Southwest 109th Avenue in Miami, between Southwest Seventh Street and US Highway 41, growing sushi chain Sushi Sake appears to be planning another new location, this time in the Florida International University area. A plan review was recently filed for a Sushi Sake at 740 SW 109th Ave, in suites 102 and 103.
The Sushi Sake menu opens with appetizers like Gyoza, Fried Soft Shell Crab, and Beef Tataki, plus sushi appetizers, including the Ceviche Trio with wahu, tuna, and salmon. Inspired by its South Florida home, the brand’s menu includes the Miami Heat Roll (shrimp tempura, cream cheese, crab salad, topped with baked salmon, spicy mayo and eel sauce) and the crowd-favorite Pineapple Fried Rice.
What Now reached out on Tuesday to Michelle Magluta, director of operations at Sushi Sake. Magluta was not immediately available to comment on the location. Another representative of Sushi Sake said the FIU location will be corporate-owned and -operated.
The location on Southwest 109th Avenue is situated across the street from chicken restaurant The Green Chicken. To the north are eateries like 109 Burger Joint and La Gocha Miami, and just the south is the entrance to the FIU campus.
