Founded in Coral Gables in 1992, Taco Rico has grown to include nine locations in its South Florida home, and the brand is currently at work on its tenth. The new Taco Rico is headed to Homestead, opening at 895 NE 43rd Ave.

“Its official… What a blessing this journey has been… Now its time to give back to our Homestead community…” says a recent post on the location’s Instagram page.

The page describes the Homestead location as the “first location with a ‘drive thru’ & ice cream shop.”

Popular items from the menu at the Miami location (at 426 Eighth Street) include the Taco Salad (tortilla bowl, lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, cilantro dressing, guacamole, and corn salsa with your choice of chicken, beef on top), Loaded Tacos (3 tacos. Topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, cheese, and Chipotle cream. Served with rice and beans on the side), and the Grilled Baja Bowl (Your choice of protein served over rice, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and corn salsa topped with cheese and cilantro dressing).

What Now reached out on Friday to franchisee Tato Gonzalez to ask about plans for the Homestead opening. Gonzalez declined to make any immediate comment on the opening.
