Founded as a food truck by owners Mohammad Farraj and Omar Al-Massalkhi in 2020, local halal Mexican chain Talkin’ Tacos has grown to include locations in Brickell, Miramar, and Wynwood. A new location will open at The Walk of Coral Springs before the end of this month, and, according to recent coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, two more are expected before the end of the year.

Franchise locations are also in the works, bringing the brand to Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and New York.

Top picks from the menu at the Talkin’ Tacos Brickell include the Crispy Hot Chicken Sandwich, Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, and the Birria Grill Cheese. If taco is your preferred hardware, you’ll find software like Carne Asada, Mahi Mahi, Mushroom, and Southwest Chicken. The eclectic selection of entrees includes Birria Ramen and Quesa Birria with Oaxaca cheese, onions, cilantro, and tortilla chips.

What Now reached out to Talkin’ Tacos Area General Manager Daryl Perez on Thursday. Perez was not immediately available to comment on the brand’s South Florida expansion plans.
