Founded in 2021 in Tallahassee, MoCookies is a “premier and authentic cookie company start-up that proudly serves Florida,” with a second location now open in Wesley Chapel as well. And as the brand keeps expanding, its next stop is in Boca Raton, at 144 NW 20th Street.

“MoCookies is a family business,” Mohammad Khalil, who is heading up the Boca Raton location, told What Now on Wednesday. Founded by his cousin, also named Mohammad (the Mo in MoCookies), the brand began as a cookie stand inside the family donut shop, Donut Kingdom. “Ultimately, it became successful, and he opened in a bigger location.”

MoCookies offers a little bit of everything good: cookies, of course, but also ice cream, boba tea, coffee, and milkshakes. Signature Mo Cookies flavors include the Signature Chocolate Chip Mo Cookie (a large thicc chocolate chip cookies that’s doughy in the middle; a must try), the Dark Chocolate Peanutbutter Mo Cookie (a large thicc dark chocolate peanut butter cookie with a doughy consistency on the inside), and the Birthday Cake Signature Mo Cookie (a thicc cookie that’s doughy in the center made with white chocolate morsels and birthday sprinkles!)

Khalil brings to the table plenty of restaurant industry experience—it’s the family business, after all. When it came time to launch something of his own and he found an appropriate space, the choice to expand MoCookies into Boca was made.

In anticipation of a grand opening next month, MoCookies Boca is doing something special:

“For our opening, we’re doing a giveaway where people can enter through our Instagram and win a golden ticket for free cookies for a year – one a day for a year. We’ll announce the winner one month after the opening.”
