“This Is What Flavorful Means,” says the website of local empanada favorite The Empanada’s. That meaning is something more and more people are finding out: the brand has expanded to four locations in South Florida (along with a presence in Spain), and What Now has recently reported on a fifth location, opening in in Fort Lauderdale.
However, it turns out there is a sixth location on the way—or rather, that the Fort Lauderdale Empanada’s is itself the sixth. Before it launches, a new outpost of The Empanada’s is opening in Weston, at 16648 Saddle Club Road, a representative confirmed with What Now on Tuesday.
“Our motto is that the empanadas are never frozen,” the representative said. “They’re freshly baked, with more than 30 varieties. You will also have a bakery in Weston, with coffee. The store is very nice, and very big.”
At opening, a new promotion will offer two free empanadas with the purchase of a dozen. Those empanadas come in Traditional varieties like Beef, Spinach, and Chicken; Special Empanada varieties like the Bacon, Egg & Cheese and the Salmon Philly (salmon, scallions, cream cheese, dill weed, fennel seed and cherry tomato); and Signature Empanada varieties like the Cheesy Pampa (premium shredded meat, four cheeses Mexican style, cheddar sauce, black beans, corn, bacon, and chimichurri sauce) and the Empanada’s Gourmet (premium ground beef, mozzarella cheese, gouda and provolone cheese). There are also Sweet Empanada varieties like Nutella & Brownie, Oreo, and Guyaba & Cheese.
