The Soulful Steep, a new “teahouse + salt cave + emporium” will open soon in Pompano Beach, on the southeast corner of North Flagler Avenue and Northeast Second Street.
“It’s going to be a place where you can go to disappear for a bit and have some wonderful treats and wonderful teas and coffees,” co-owner Christina Abresch told What Now in a Thursday afternoon phone call.
Opening at 122 N Flagler Ave., the teahouse will offer a selection of teas, many of which are blended by local herbalists to address common health concerns.
“If you have a cold, if your heart feels heavy, you can choose that tea.”
The same spirit of local collaboration will show up in Soulful Steep’s food offerings, which will include light eats and “insane baked goods” from local chefs and bakers.
The space will seat about forty people, counting both indoor and outdoor seating, and it will also feature a store and a salt room.
“It’s a therapeutic room,” Abresch said, “for anything from asthma to anxiety, insomnia, and skin conditions.”
The menu will also feature options for vegan and gluten-free diners, with artwork by local artists hanging on the wall, for sale, and pieces of furniture and other crafted goods made by local artisans for sale in the emporium.
“Inside or outside, it’s going to be a warm, cozy sort of place,” Abresch said.
