With its “mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good,” Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has made a name for itself by inviting guests, quite simply, to chill out.

“Nowadays,” says the Van Leeuwen website, “people can spend so much time on what’s ‘healthy’ they don’t stop to consider what’s healthy. As far as we’re concerned, happiness is healthiness.”

And now you can enjoy that particular frozen, creamy kind of healthiness in the brand’s first South Florida location, which celebrated its grand opening yesterday, at 1600 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.

Van Leeuwen offers specialty ice cream flavors ranging from Marionberry Cheesecake to Hazelnut Fudge Cookie, to Praline Butter Cake, to Earl Gray Tea. The brand is also known for the wide variety of vegan ice cream choices it carries, making sure to serve up a little happiness for everybody.

And now that the Miami Beach location has opened, what’s next? Coverage by the Miami New Times says a total of three locations are expected for the South Florida market. To the Miami Beach location will be added another ice cream shop, as What Now reported just after the New Year, in West Palm Beach. On top of that, the brand has another location in store in Delray Beach, at 25 SW First Avenue.

What Now reached out to Van Leeuwen President and COO Corey Segal this week to inquire about the launch timeline for these upcoming locations. Segal was not immediately available for comment.
