Cuban cuisine is prominent throughout the Miami-area, and a new concept is entering the game. Varadero Restaurant & Bar is planned to appear in the Pinecrest area soon. What Now connected with owner Daniel Sheehy to confirm details.

Expect to find the new concept at 8507 SW 136th St, where it will near a strip mall with other businesses like: Caffe Portofino, French Bistro and Panera Bread.

The concept is undergoing construction right now, and Sheehy expects the doors to be open in about three or so months. This is the first unit of the Varadero Restaurant and Bar brand. There are other restaurants in Cuba that bear the same name but have no connection.

Sheehy reports the concept will be stylized like a surf-shack, and they will have a full bar. The menu will consist of recipes passed down from his Cuban in-laws. They will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, until midnight. Sheehy said that Varadeo will have an entirely separate kitchen in the space for catering.

Varadero Beach in Cuba, Sheehy reports, is one of the nicest beaches in the world and is the inspiration behind their name and beach shack theme.

Sheehy has been active in the restaurant scene before, having owned and sold a concept called Sub Shack in Pinecrest. He also owns another catering business called Sports Catering Inc., that serves University of Miami and other sports teams traveling into town.
