Vegan 27, the vegan restaurant located at 1665 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 15 in Riviera Beach closed about a year and a half ago, but if you’ve been missing Vegan 27’s plant-based food that “makes the heart smile,” fear not: the vegan restaurant is reopening soon.

What Now spoke on Friday with Haggith Edwards, one of the new owners bringing Vegan 27 back to life. Edwards says the core of the concept is remaining the same, with a few exciting additions.

“The menu is not changing,” Edwards said. “But we are adding a few things, like our daily specials. In the front, when you walk in, we’ll have it set up buffet-style. The regular menu will be the same: the shakes, smoothies, burgers, and fries. But we want to bring in more whole foods, too. We’ll have South Florida-style rice, beans, and plantains; and we’ll be serving breakfast.”

The operating hours are still being worked out as Vegan 27 approaches its reopening in a space that has been renovated with a new look and new equipment.

“It feels really great,” Edwards said. “It’s been quite some time now, and I’m so happy that we’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.”

In its new form, Vegan 27 has a mission to offer healthy, wholesome plant-based food that doesn’t sacrifice flavor.

“A lot of times when people think of healthy or vegan, they expect it be boring. But no, this is going to be amazing food. It’s going to punch your tastebuds, and afterwards, you’re going to feel great, not worrying about your blood sugar or about your workout.”

Stay tuned for more details as Vegan 27 prepares to reopen in Riviera Beach!
