Coffee roaster and cafe chain Vice City Bean has been growing gradually in Miami ever since it was launched in 2016, after a move to South Florida from Los Angeles. The chain has locations in the Wynwood Area (at the Filling Station Lofts), in Little River (at the Citadel), and in Brickell (at Sabadell Financial). Now it’s preparing to expand to North Miami.

This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork showing an opening in the works at 1155 NE 126th Street. The Vice City Bean website confirms this address and says the location is currently under construction, with an opening expected sometime this year.

“We are inspired by sourcing and serving great coffees and by providing an enjoyable cafe experience,” the website says. “Our coffee selection features notable roasters, alongside our own thoughtfully selected and roasted coffees.  The coffee line up has something for everyone, from classically clean washed coffee, to funky & fun experimental processed coffees.  You’ll find an interesting selection on our bar menu and retail coffee to take home.”

Popular items from the Vice City Bean menu include the classic Latte, the Tea Latte, the Cappuccino, and a selection of empanadas.

What Now reached out to founder Roland Baker on Wednesday to ask about plans for the North Miami opening. Baker was not immediately available.
