Cafe and cocktail bar brand Emissary has two locations currently operating in its hometown of Washington, D.C., serving up coffee, drinks, and a menu of cafe-style eats. The brand is now headed to Miami, with a location expected to open in Coconut Grove at the beginning of next year.
Emissary’s menus have included Breakfast and Brunch choices like Almond Butter Toast, a Breakfast Burrito, and the Bullfrog Everything Bagel Platter with Ivy City Lox (cream cheese, cucumber, onions, capers, tomato, organic greens). These are served alongside a selection of coffee drinks and cocktails.
What Now reached out to owner Elias Hengst earlier this week to ask about the opening. Hengst was not immediately available for a conversation about Emissary’s first South Florida location, but the restaurateur confirmed that an opening is planned for February.
Opening at 3308 Mary Street, Emissary will join a community of restaurants that include Omakai Sushi, Aida Mexican Food, Sadelle’s, and Koko. The specifics of the Coconut Grove locations menu are not yet available.
