With a total of 12 locations open or under development in California, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas, West Coast chain Byrd’s Hot Chicken is preparing to make its entrée into the state of Florida with a new location in Boynton Beach. Opening at 1313 W Boynton Beach Blvd. Suite 4-5, Byrd’s Hot Chicken Boynton Beach will be only the first of five locations planned for South Florida in the next few years.

Top items on the Byrd’s menu include the hot chicken sandwich, the tenders, and the Byrd Bomb: juicy diced chicken tenders, cheese, slaw, 24k sauce, and pickles served on a bed of fries and toast. The chain’s hot chicken comes with several spice levels—Mild, Medium, Hot, and Supahot—with a menu that also features wings, nuggets, a plant-based sandwich called the Rebel, and the Chick N’ Donut, a thing as decadent as it sounds: hot chicken with pickles on a glazed donut.

The location on Boynton Beach Boulevard, Byrd’s Hot Chicken’s South Florida beachhead, comprises about 1,400 square feet with seating for 30 guests, plus two or three tables outside. The plan is to grow in South Florida and eventually expand into Central Florida.
