The intersection of Weston Road and Indian Trace appears to be the future home of Weston’s first Wingstop location. Plan review paperwork submitted by Florida Wingmen LLC shows a Wingstop planned for 16200 Indian Trace.
The wing franchise is a major contender in the chicken space, with well over 2000 locations currently operating in the United States. Its major stomping grounds are Texas (its home state) and California, with 455 locations and 402 locations, respectively. Florida comes in at third with a total of 136 stores.
And Wingstop continues to grow. Coverage published by Fast Company said that Wingstop had already opened 138 new restaurants in 2024 and had raised its expectations for future growth. As of the end of Q2, it had reached 2,352 locations.
“The Texas-based buffalo chicken chain has roughly doubled its footprint in six years,” the coverage said,” despite inflationary pressures that have made diners more price conscious.”
Wingstop’s streamlined menu features a chicken sandwich, bone-in and boneless wings, tenders, and sides like Louisiana Voodoo Fries, Buffalo Ranch Fries, and Cajun Fried Corn. All that chicken is served up with your choice of sauce from a selection that includes classics like Lemon Pepper, Original Hot, and Garlic Parmesan, along with other favorites like Louisiana Rub, Cajun, and Hawaiian.
The location in question sits just across the Indian trace from a collection of shopping centers like Country Isles Plaz, Indian Trace Shopping Center, and Indian Trace Plaza, where Wingstop would join an already energetic community of restaurants.
What Now reached out on Thursday to franchisee Sergio Balsinde to inquire about plans for a Weston opening. Balsinde was not immediately available for comment.
