Eataly, the world-famous food hall and Italian marketplace founded in Torino, Italy, has big plans for South Florida. Not only is the brand opening a new location next year at Aventura Mall, it has also set its sights on West Palm Beach’s CityPlace for its flagship store, says coverage by the Miami Herald.
“We’re incredibly excited to enter the South Florida market and look forward to bringing the Italian art of living to the West Palm Beach community,” Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, said in a statement quoted in the Herald coverage. “As a true lifestyle destination with an impressive mix of retail, art, design, and cuisine, CityPlace couldn’t have been a better match for our incoming flagship store.”
There doesn’t appear to be any particularly long wait in store either. The Aventura Mall location is set to open in Spring 2025, with the CityPlace location expected to open only shortly thereafter, in the fall. Like the other Eataly locations, it will involve “seated restaurants, quick service counters and a specialty market with imported Italian goods.”
“There are more than 50 Eataly locations across the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Silicon Valley,” the Herald coverage adds. “At the moment, the brand is focusing on expanding across North America, including new spots in Toronto and New Jersey. Earlier this year, Brusò told the Miami Herald the plan was to double the business in the next couple of years.”
