With one location currently operating at Aventura Waterways Shoppes, Zohar’s Gelato has been serving up homemade gelato since 2021. The brand is now looking to expand, with one location expected to open in Hollywood this December, and another on the way next year, planned for 9543 Harding Ave. in Surfside.

Zohar’s Gelato is a family business, owned by the Zohars themselves: Tehilla (daughter), David (son), and Michael (father).

“People come in and say, ‘Wow, this is amazing,’” Tehilla Lubell-Zohar told What Now on Thursday. “And then we get to tell them, yes, it’s just me and my brother and my father making it.”

Zohar’s Gelato offers a set of permanent flavors along with varying seasonal ones. Lubell-Zohar named a few of the brand’s most popular mainstays: Ferrero, Cookies & Cream, White Chocolate Sprinkles, Bubble Gum, Pistachio, and more. Current seasonal flavors include Vanilla and Brownie Chunk, Fruity Pebbles, and Cocoa Pebbles.

“We live and breathe this gelato,” Lubell-Zohar said. “And we’re very open to people suggestions on how they want it to taste, how they want it to make them feel.”

Certified Kosher by KM, Zohar’s also makes its waffles and crepes in-house. And now it’s about to expand its footprint considerably, offering its family-made goodies in Hollywood before the end of the 2022, and in Surfside next year.

In the meantime, you can keep up with Zohar’s Gelato on Instagram.
