Kate Durand, Founder of Brooklyn-based Hot Yoga and Pilates studio, YO BK, announced the opening of its third location in Wynwood, Miami. Located at 2319B N Miami Ave. as part of the popular outdoor venue The Oasis, YO BK is steps away from the bustling Wynwood streets.
Established in 2015, YO BK is a boutique fitness studio that specializes in Hot Yoga and Hot Pilates. Well known in the health scene for being stimulating yet fun, the variety of classes offered at YO BK provide students with a place that meets all their fitness needs. YO BK is a community where all bodies are welcomed and celebrated; inclusivity is one of their core values, embracing all ages, genders, fitness levels, and backgrounds.
“I believe our classes, which are equal parts fun, challenging and accessible, will be met with excitement here. In particular I can’t wait to introduce Inferno Hot Pilates, which is a party within a workout with energetic music, club lighting and a disco ball” said Durand in a statement.
The decision was simple to expand YO BK to Wynwood, as this exciting neighborhood has many similarities in energy and progressiveness to Brooklyn, surrounded by artists and young professionals. Constructed in an old factory space within the Oasis, the studio displays the original industrial ceilings and graffiti throughout for a modern touch that’s welcoming and warm. The new Miami facility offers state-of-the-art infrared heating, bi-polar HVAC ionization, showers and a disco ball because that is the YO BK difference! The layout and design are also reminiscent of the Brooklyn locations by keeping both comfort and elegance in mind, staying true to the original YO BK style. Additionally, guests will also have access to its partnered all day cafe, Novela Social, from the owners of Gotan NYC.
Classes offered at the Wynwood location range from Inferno Hot Pilates (HIIT), Bikram Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga and Yin, ensuring a workout style for any type of student. Instructors at YO BK are certified with over 200 hours of training, providing the ability to assist beginners and challenge veteran practitioners.
“YO BK is about so much more than physical exercise – it’s a home away from home for our students to challenge and get to know themselves better” says Durand.
