Aloha Complex, an indoor surf center offering year-round tropical recreation with on-site dining, is set to open at 2205 Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard in Quebec City.
The facility is scheduled to open in Summer 2026 and will feature a giant indoor modular wave suitable for all skill levels. The new center will also include a chic Bali-inspired restaurant, The Sunset, offering Californian cuisine, cocktails, mocktails, and privately imported wines, with a view of Canada’s largest surf wave. Co-founders Jean-François and Laurent Paquin developed the project to provide a unique space where sports, leisure, and socializing come together. Visitors can expect a full range of surfing activities, dining experiences, and wellness options under one roof.
Aloha Complex builds on the Paquin brothers’ vision to create a friendly, inclusive environment for surfers and families. The founders, both passionate about water sports and community engagement, designed the complex to allow beginners and experienced surfers alike to enjoy the water safely and comfortably. The facility will also offer a high-end training and wellness center, including state-of-the-art equipment, signature fitness classes, physiotherapy, spa treatments, and a cold plunge pool.
The complex extends beyond surfing and wellness with an entertainment floor featuring golf simulators, arcade games, a retro skating rink, and a rooftop urban mini-putt course. By combining sports, recreation, and dining in a single destination, the Aloha Complex aims to create a vacation-like experience in Quebec City year-round. The facility will accommodate individuals, families, and groups seeking both activity and relaxation in one location.
The Sunset restaurant will serve as a central feature of the Aloha Complex, offering casual yet elevated dining. Guests can enjoy fresh Californian dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and an unobstructed view of the indoor surf wave. The menu is designed for both post-surf meals and leisurely dining experiences with friends or family, emphasizing approachable flavors with high-quality ingredients.
“At Sunset, we’ve created more than just a restaurant: a true culinary journey to the West Coast, blending Californian cuisine, innovative cocktails, and a spectacular view of Canada’s biggest surf wave,” according to the company’s website. “Let yourself be transported to a relaxed atmosphere where every bite brings you closer to the sun, the sand, and the Californian spirit. Whether you’re enjoying a meal after a surf session or simply looking for a pleasant time with friends, our team is here to offer you an unforgettable experience.”
