Alt Hotel Ottawa Airport, a seven-storey, 180-room hotel developed by Group Germain Hotels, is set to open in Ottawa, offering direct access to the Ottawa International Airport terminal.
The new location is entering its final construction phase and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with an official opening planned for 2026, according to the Ottawa Business Journal. Bookings are already available, according to a recent announcement on the hotel’s Instagram page. Guests can expect a streamlined hospitality experience typical of the Alt brand, featuring modern design, compact amenities, and potential on-site bar and dining options, as shown in renderings on the company’s website.
First announced in 2019, the project faced several years of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now on track for completion, the hotel joins two other Group Germain properties in the capital: Alt Hotel on Slater Street and the newly opened Le Germain Hotel at the Arts Court complex. The Ottawa Airport location represents the company’s third airport hotel, following similar builds at Toronto Pearson and Halifax Stanfield, all of which are connected directly to their respective terminals.
While specific details about on-site food offerings have not been released, renderings suggest a dedicated bar area, and guests can likely expect a concept similar to those found at other Alt properties. For example, Alt Hotel Toronto Airport features Sosta! — an on-site pizzeria and bar offering fresh pizzas, hearty pastas, sandwiches, and breakfast items. Catering menus from that location include build-your-own Tex-Mex and Mediterranean bowls, roasted chicken entrees, and a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.
Group Germain Hotels is also pursuing other food and beverage projects in Québec. As previously reported by What Now Montreal, a restaurant is planned as part of the upcoming Le Germain Hotel, adjacent to the Casino de Montréal, although final details have not yet been announced. The inclusion of dining venues across new developments suggests an ongoing emphasis on elevating the guest experience with accessible, on-site culinary options.
