Arthur’s Nosh Bar, a Montreal-based restaurant known for its reimagined Jewish fare, is getting ready to open a sister location called Arthur’s Dinette in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce at Monkland Avenue.
The new restaurant, planned for Spring 2026, is being led by chefs Raegan Steinberg and Alex Cohen, the team behind Romies, Arthur’s Nosh Bar, and Dirty Greens, according to Silo57. Arthur’s Dinette will keep some of the signature dishes from the original Nosh Bar while introducing new menu items tailored for evening service. The concept is designed as a casual, family-friendly space inspired by small French pastry shops and neighborhood bistros. The project was teased on Arthur’s social media with the message, “Can you keep a secret?” While full menu details and interior design specifics have not yet been released, the project is generating early buzz among local food enthusiasts.
The original Arthur’s Nosh Bar opened in 2016 in St-Henri and quickly became a destination for Montrealers seeking elevated Jewish classics. Its dishes, such as crispy schnitzel on thick-cut challah and latke smorgasbords with organic gravlax, scrambled eggs, and caviar, have helped establish the brand as a neighborhood favorite. The bright, modern décor and approachable yet elevated menu have contributed to its reputation and loyal following.
Arthur’s Dinette will aim to continue that tradition while offering a slightly different dining experience focused on dinner service and casual neighborhood dining. Customers can expect a combination of familiar dishes from the original location along with creative new plates that reflect the chefs’ ongoing culinary evolution. The project underscores Steinberg and Cohen’s commitment to building community-focused restaurants in Montreal. The new location will further expand their presence in the city while honoring the family-driven vision behind the Arthur’s brand.
