Baguette Brochette, a Montreal-based sandwich shop that combines traditional French baguettes with Ivorian street food, is getting ready to open a new location next month in Quebec City.
Founded by Jad Ezzeddine in September 2019, the first location opened in the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood and has since expanded to Saint-Laurent, Ottawa, and more. The company has a total of seven locations, including six in Canada and one in France. Now, Baguette Brochette is getting ready to open an eighth site in Quebec City, according to a recent post on Facebook. Ezzeddine tells What Now Montreal that this location is scheduled to have a grand opening on June 13, offering the same delicious sandwiches as the other locations.
The menu features “pain brochette,” which consists of grilled chicken, beef, or vegetable skewers served in a baguette. Other offerings include the Baguette Burger, Alloco (fried plantains), plantain chips, and homemade juices such as hibiscus and passion strawberry. Vegetarian options like Beyond Meat are available, and all meats are halal. House-made sauces and North African spice blends are used to enhance the flavor of each dish.
Ezzeddine, originally from Côte d’Ivoire, created the concept to introduce African flavors in a fast-casual format using fresh, authentic ingredients. The restaurant’s decor reflects African influences, with elements inspired by the savannah, and features an elephant logo that symbolizes strength and community. The team boasts over 15 years of combined experience in the food and service industry, with a focus on delivering fresh, healthy, and affordable dining experiences.
