Elena Pizzeria, a casual pizza concept from the team behind one of Montreal’s most recognized Italian restaurants, is getting ready to open in Montreal at a yet-to-be-announced address on Notre-Dame Street West in Griffintown.
The company’s new location is an extension of Elena, which currently operates at 5090 Notre-Dame St W, according to an announcement recently made on social media. Although an exact opening date has not yet been announced, Elena Pizzeria is actively hiring staff, indicating that preparations are underway. Customers can expect sourdough pizza available by the slice and as whole pies, with a simplified, to-go-friendly setup.
Elena first opened in 2018, founded by Emma Cardarelli and Ryan Gray, and quickly earned a reputation as one of Montreal’s top destinations for Italian cuisine. Known for its naturally fermented pizza dough, house-made pasta, and natural wine selection, the restaurant has maintained steady popularity in Saint-Henri and surrounding areas. The new Griffintown location marks the brand’s first standalone expansion.
Elena Pizzeria will focus exclusively on pizza, separating it from the broader menu at the original restaurant. Its arrival in Griffintown aligns with the neighborhood’s rapid residential and commercial growth. The area has become a target for new concepts seeking a high-traffic, centrally located customer base.
The menu is expected to center around sourdough crusts, with both classic and seasonal offerings. While full details have yet to be released, branding from the restaurant notes that it will serve both slices and whole pies, likely catering to lunch and dinner crowds.
