The landmark water tower at the corner of Van Horne and Boulevard Saint-Laurent is slated for a significant transformation at 1 Van Horne Street West, where a new multi-use development called Entrepôt Van Horne is underway.
Led by designer Zébulon Perron and architect Thomas Balaban, the project would bring new life to the long-unused site, according to Blog Montreal. Plans include a boutique hotel, office spaces, business facilities, a restaurant, and a rooftop terrace offering expansive views of the city. While the number of hotel rooms and full details have yet to be confirmed, the project is aiming for a 2026 opening, with a website expected soon.
A representative for the property’s ownership group tells What Now Montreal that the site is currently undergoing rezoning, and that plans remain in the early stages. They noted that, depending on how things progress, the property could eventually include one or two restaurant concepts, potentially including a rooftop venue.
While specifics are still under wraps, the representative shared that if the rooftop concept is approved, it would feature sweeping views of Mount Royal Park, the St. Lawrence River, and the broader Montreal skyline.
