Junior & The Kid Wood Fire Barbecue, a Rockland-based smokehouse specializing in wood-fired BBQ, is getting ready to expand its presence to Ottawa at Ottawa Stadium at 300 Coventry Road.
The company’s new location will join the Ottawa Titans’ updated concessions lineup for the 2026 season, according to the Ottawa Business Journal. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the expanded concessions program is expected to launch in time for the home opener on May 8, 2026. Customers can expect a menu centered on slow smoked meats, house made sauces, and classic barbecue offerings.
Junior & The Kid Wood Fire Barbecue joins a mix of both new and returning local partners at the stadium. Other new vendors include Roost Express and Craig’s Cookies, while existing partners feature Beyond the Pale Brewing Company, Stray Dog Brewing Company, Vimy Brewing Company, and Lois ‘N’ Frima. The focus remains on highlighting local businesses and strengthening ties within the Ottawa community.
The company operates its primary location at 733 rue Industrielle in Rockland, where it produces its barbecue using a 1000-gallon offset smoker named Francine. Built by Lewis Manufacturing Co. in Leduc, Alberta, the smoker is central to the brand’s approach to preparing meats low and slow over a wood fire. The team emphasizes sourcing local ingredients and preparing menu items in-house whenever possible.
Menu offerings typically include a range of smoked meats paired with small-batch barbecue sauces developed by the team. The concept centers on traditional barbecue techniques with a focus on consistency and flavor. Bringing this operation into Ottawa Stadium will give baseball fans access to a more specialized barbecue option during games, expanding the overall variety available on site.
