Le Baratineur, a new restaurant and comedy club concept, is getting ready to open in Longueuil at 341 Saint-Charles Street West.

The venue will combine dining and live entertainment, offering guests an evening where laughter and gastronomy go hand in hand. Le Baratineur, which translates to The Talker, is expected to open sometime in Fall 2025, according to details shared on its crowdfunding page. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, Le Baratineur describes itself as a warm and inclusive space for food, drinks, and comedy. The team behind the project has already launched a campaign through La Ruche Québec to help fund the final stages of construction and décor.

Founded by a group of five former Montrealers who relocated to the South Shore, Le Baratineur was created with the goal of enriching Longueuil’s cultural and culinary scene. The founders say the area’s growing potential inspired them, and they want to offer residents and visitors a place to gather for shared experiences centered on humor and hospitality. The project has already met its initial funding goal and is now raising additional funds to enhance the space’s design and comfort.

According to the group’s crowdfunding description, proceeds from the campaign will go toward completing renovations and adding decorative touches designed to make the venue more inviting. “We didn’t want to compromise on the comfort of our future guests,” the founders wrote, noting their aim to create a space that feels both modern and community-driven.

Le Baratineur’s concept blends a full-service restaurant, bar, and comedy club under one roof. Guests can expect a diverse menu of food and drinks alongside regular comedy programming. The team hopes to provide a new local destination where Longueuil residents can eat, drink, and laugh together.
