Mia Pasta, a Quebec-based fast-casual chain known for customizable pasta, pizza, and stir-fry dishes, is preparing to open a new location in Chicoutimi at 1711 Talbot Boulevard.

The company’s latest restaurant is set to open in January next to Homies, according to Informe Affaires. The new Mia Pasta will be operated by franchisees Frédéric Côté-Laflamme, Éric Deschênes, and Étienne Deschênes, who also run Mia Pasta locations in Jonquière and Alma, as well as regional franchises of Quesada and Poulet Royal. The new restaurant will offer a dine-in experience, with 67 seats and a bring-your-own-beer/wine policy.

This will be the first Mia Pasta location in Quebec to feature the company’s updated branding, which includes a redesigned logo, new color palette, refreshed menu layout, and the slogan “You’re the Chef.” The brand update, launched in August, is aimed at younger adults aged 18–34 and highlights the concept of fully customizable dishes.

The Chicoutimi store spans 2,200 square feet and represents a $500,000 investment, creating approximately 20 new jobs. Developed in partnership with Immeuble MCJR, the site offers ample parking behind the building and improved access via a newly constructed rear passageway behind the nearby Desjardins branch. Traffic lights at Talbot Boulevard ensure access from both directions.

Mia Pasta’s menu emphasizes flexibility and choice, allowing guests to customize their own pastas, pizzas, Asian bowls, and salads by selecting from various bases, vegetables, proteins, and sauces. Signature options like the “Total Sea” and “BBQ Chicken” are also available for those who prefer curated meals. Vegetarian, kids’, and dessert options round out the offerings.

Founded in Quebec, Mia Pasta currently operates more than ten locations across the province, including in Gatineau, Terrebonne, Val-d’Or, and Repentigny. The brand continues to grow through franchising and maintains a focus on fast, fresh, and customizable food experiences.
