Paris Baguette, a South Korean bakery-cafe chain described as French-inspired, is getting ready to expand in Ottawa with new locations across the city.

The company’s Ottawa expansion comes about 18 months after its initial announcement, which initially targeted six locations, according to the Ottawa Business Journal. While an exact opening date has yet to be confirmed, franchise deals are expected in 2026, with store openings projected for 2027. Customers can expect Paris Baguette’s selection of breads, pastries, cakes, and made-to-order coffee and beverages.

Nick Scaccio, chief development officer for Paris Baguette’s North American branch, tells the Business Journal that the company is planning an “aggressive expansion” into the Ottawa market, with as many as 10 locations on the horizon.

Paris Baguette’s Canadian expansion also includes plans to grow further in Ontario while entering Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland, and Quebec. More than 40 Canadian locations are currently in development, signaling continued growth across the country.

The company operates more than 3,000 locations in South Korea and hundreds globally, including in China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and France. In North America, the chain has over 200 U.S. locations and 15 in Canada, including eight in the Greater Toronto Area, two in Calgary, three in Edmonton, and two in Vancouver. Paris Baguette aims to reach 1,000 locations across North America by 2030.

The new Ottawa locations are planned for central business districts, suburban neighborhoods, and shopping centers, with each site ideally around 3,000 square feet. Ottawa’s urban and suburban mix, financial district, and diverse population make the city attractive for expansion. The company also highlighted Ottawa’s French heritage as aligning with the brand’s identity.

Menu offerings at Paris Baguette typically include freshly baked breads, a variety of pastries, cakes, and on-site-prepared desserts. Coffee and other beverages are made to order, complementing the bakery items and providing a complete cafe experience.
