Poulet Frit Wong, a Quebec-based chicken concept certified as gluten-free and offering halal options, is preparing for rapid growth, with plans to open at least five locations over the next 12 months across Quebec and potentially other parts of Canada.
The company’s expansion continues with the opening of its second location on September 1 at 2900 Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois in Quebec City, directly across from the city’s main bus terminal, according to a recent announcement on Instagram. The new Sainte-Foy restaurant represents an early step in Poulet Frit Wong’s broader plan to scale across Quebec and beyond. President Maxim Bouchard tells What Now Montreal that a combination of company-owned and franchised locations will drive growth. This hybrid model is designed to accelerate development while also providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs to partner with the brand.
While additional locations have not yet been announced, more information is expected in the coming months as new sites are secured. Poulet Frit Wong debuted in March 2025 in the Saint-Roch neighborhood of Quebec City, quickly gaining attention for its tight menu, strong community engagement, and halal-certified offerings. The company’s fast-follow opening in Sainte-Foy signals a shift to a more aggressive development timeline. While Montreal is a top priority, Bouchard tells What Now Montreal that the company is actively evaluating other markets in Quebec and across Canada for future locations.
The restaurant’s menu features a selection of fried chicken combos, vegetarian and traditional poutines, and sides such as coleslaw, fries, and house-made sauces, including the popular “PFW” secret sauce. The company takes pride in being gluten-free certified, with a menu that also features plenty of halal options. To drink, beverages include Loop juices, Eska sparkling water, and Coca-Cola products.
In a recent Instagram post, the company teased its ambitions with: “Our 2nd location officially opens September 1 at 2900 Chemin Quatre-Bourgeois. Always fresh, always crisp.” The post also hinted that “this is just the beginning,” signaling more announcements to come.
