During the inspection, the person-in-charge was unable to show any knowledge of foodborne illnesses. There was also no health policy available at the facility. The health inspectors saw an employee touch the phone with their gloved hands and use the kitchen prep station without changing their gloves.
The report noted that raw chicken was stored above raw catfish and raw bacon in the reach-in cooler. The prepared ready-to-eat cakes in the second reach-in freezer were observed with no date marks.
The inspector discussed the 24-hour date marking requirement for ready-to-eat (RTE) products, as well as proper date labeling procedures for items kept in frozen storage. Health inspectors observed a swarm of small flies in the kitchen and a box of raw chicken being stored on the ground in a walk-in cooler.
The report noted that a knife with a missing tip was seen being stored at the magnetic rack at the 3-compartment sink. The facility did not have any CL test strips available. The inspectors documented that the bidet installed in the men’s restroom has no backflow prevention available.
The health inspectors noted that all hand sinks were properly equipped and conveniently located for food employees’ use. In other observations, they noted all food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils were cleaned and sanitized using approved methods. The full inspection report is available online.

A follow-up inspection will take place within the next 10 days to ensure the violations are fixed. The restaurant must take prompt action to avoid losing its food service permit.
