The Tennessee Department of Health found several food safety violations at Lemongrass Thai, including heavy grease buildup and missing date labels. The department plans to reinspect the restaurant within 10 days.

Lemongrass Thai serves Nashville diners popular dishes such as Orange Chicken, Ginger Tilapia, and Crab Fried Rice. The restaurant received a score of 75 during Thursday’s inspection.

The Tennessee Department of Health listed the 10 violations in its detailed inspection report as given below:

  • An employee at Lemongrass Thai was found to be washing hands in hot water without using soap.
  • The hand sink at the restaurant had no soap, the report noted.
  • The report added that raw chicken was stored above raw beef in a glass cooler at the Thai food establishment.
  • The low-temperature dish machine at Lemongrass Thai had 0 ppm chlorine sanitizer, the report stated.
  • Raw chicken was stored on the prep table of the Nashville eatery for an hour at 53°F.
  • Cooked chicken was kept in the prep cooler of Lemongrass Thai for 48 hours without a date mark, the report highlighted.
  • Some containers with sauces were kept on the floor at the Thai food facility.
  • The report highlighted a wet wiping cloth left on the prep table.
  • As per the report, an excessive grease buildup was seen on the storage rack shelves, which was next to the fryer.
  • Grease buildup was observed on the hood filters above the oven at Lemongrass Thai.
