Appalachian-inspired restaurant Audrey, located at 809 Meridian St., is receiving a new bar. Upstairs at Audrey will open in February, offering a 40-seat lounge and bar area and serving a $5 beverage menu, according to reporting by the Nashville Business Journal.
“We wanted to create a space where people could come and eat, drink, meet, laugh, be part of the community, be together and share ideas,” Matt Dickerson, vice president of food and beverage at Southall, told What Now Nashville. “We wanted to provide an inexpensive cocktail menu because the restaurant culture is becoming this $18-cocktail specialty. It’s just not great for people in our industry who want to have a couple drinks with friends, be together and not break the bank.”
Upstairs at Audrey will add a new element to Audrey, which has been part of the Nashville community since chef Sean Brock launched the concept in 2021. Southall took over the restaurant last year. They are aiming to bring Audrey back to its roots of producing good food for the community, using local ingredients. Upstairs at Audrey will allow people to experience the ambiance of Audrey.
“Upstairs at Audrey is created to get people to come in and enjoy themselves and see Audrey,” Dickerson said. “We want to be there and be part of the community.”
Upstairs at Audrey is expected to have five cocktails, five wines by the glass, five beers and non-alcoholic beverage options, all for $5.
“Upstairs at Audrey brings a place where people can come in and relax and be part of Audrey,” Dickerson said. “Audrey becomes part of the fabric of the city, and that’s what we want to do. We want to share what we’re doing with the people.”
