A sweets shop is on the way to Ashland City. Barney’s Sweet Shop has plans to open its first brick-and-mortar store at 108 North Main Street, according to a social media announcement.

Harmony Hensley is behind the sweets brand, which currently sells items wholesale and can be found in various Tennessee retailers. Hensley aims to employ individuals with disabilities at Barney’s Sweet Shop, centering the brand around the goal to “make life sweeter” through the “snack that gives back.”

The brand is best known for its wide-ranging gourmet popcorn selection of more than 75 flavors (which includes a flavor inspired by Red Hots), but it also sells other sweets such as brittle, chocolates and other traditional sweets.

As of now, details regarding the forthcoming brick-and-mortar remain unclear, and an opening timeline has not been revealed yet. What Now Nashville has reached out for further information.
