According to recent permits, The Food Hall Co., the company that operates and manages Fifth + Broadway’s Assembly Food Hall, is looking into upgrading the rooftop Skydeck space to better cater to customers during winter months and inclement weather. The company and its architect, Cooper Carry, will go before the Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee on November 7 to request that the rooftop space be given a more robust covering, as reported by the Nashville Post.

Known as the home of 30+ eateries and bars, three stages with constant live music, and Nashville’s largest rooftop, the space at Assembly Food Hall is certainly a mainstay for tourists and locals alike looking for a convenient bite near the busy honky tonks of Broadway.

Its Skydeck space often hosts events and concerts under Nashville’s city skyline, accommodating up to 1,600 guests. According to its website, “the Skydeck on Broadway is the premier event venue offering an unparalleled culinary, entertainment and concert experience. We can curate almost any experience to suit your needs, including live entertainment, bar packages, and catering from any of our 20+ eateries.”

Because a large portion of the Skydeck is uncovered, any form of weather could negatively impact its live events, which is why The Food Hall Co. is looking to add a better rooftop covering to improve guest experiences. Noted in a fact sheet given to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, seven to twelve events are canceled per year due to inclement weather. The information presented also found that a more sufficiently covered Assembly Food Hall Skydeck would yield an additional 76+ events per year, $2.2 million in taxable bar revenue, and 11,000 server work hours, as first reported by the Post.

Stay tuned for additional updates regarding renovations at Assembly Food Hall after its managing company goes before MDHA on November 7.
