After more than a year of uncertainty about whether or not Craig’s would move forward with its Nashville expansion, the LA-based restaurant has landed a $5.4 million permit, according to Nashville Business Journal. The location will move forward with construction at 611 Ninth Ave. S.

The restaurant, founded by Craig Susser in 2011, has been eyeing the space in the Gulch that formerly belonged to the Chef & I for some time. The construction concept appears to be extensive, with plans to add a 4,231-square-foot second floor to the single-story restaurant, which is currently at 4,194 square feet. The work will include a full kitchen renovation, as well as changes to the parking area and building.

Craig’s Nashville location will be its second, following the initial spot in Hollywood. The West Hollywood location has become a hub for high-end American dishes, featuring pizzas, pastas, chicken dishes, fish, and beef and pork. It also offers a selection of vegan dishes.

Currently, no information has been released regarding the opening timeline.

Sonder Hospitality has been assisting Craig’s in overseeing its Nashville expansion. What Now Nashville has reached out to Craig’s representatives for more information on their plans and timeline but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this upcoming location.
