Canada-based restaurant brand Moxies is planning a large signature location for Peabody Union in South Bank, according to a release.

The restaurant will be the largest location for the Moxies brand and will include a 13,800-square-foot interior and a patio that stretches more than 4,000 square feet. The interior space will include two floors, as well as a 1,100-square-foot jewel box space that overlooks the Cumberland River.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Moxies experience to Nashville, an area known for their culinary excellence, creativity and innovation,” Joanne Forrester, Moxies president and COO, said in the release. “Moxies promises creative food and beverage, unparalleled impeccable hospitality and an upscale but relaxed atmosphere. We hope Moxies Nashville will become a go-to place for locals and visitors to this legendary American city for lunch, dinner, happy hour and late night.”

The team is working with DesignAgency to create the unique, upscale design, which will include local design elements.

“As Moxies continues to expand into new cities, this design strategy enables us to connect more deeply with the local communities, adding a unique narrative to each location,” Forrester said in the release. “DesignAgency has developed a comprehensive plan that showcases our brand’s core identity, while still allowing for those local touches.”

Moxies offers lunch and dinner menus inspired by global flavors, ranging from homemade soups, salads and sandwiches to steaks, pastas and bowls. There will also be a cocktail program and happy hour offerings.

Eatz Hospitality will own and operate the Nashville location for Moxies. Eatz Hospitality has opened other Moxies locations in the U.S. in places like Dallas, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Across the U.S. and Canada, Moxies has more than 50 locations.

“Nashville’s growth and energy make it a natural fit for Moxies,” Paul Randle, president of Eatz Hospitality, said in the release. “We’re proud to plant roots here and look forward to becoming part of the community and its vibrant dining scene.”

They expect to hire 225 people for the Nashville restaurant.

Peabody Union has already announced Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams as a forthcoming tenant at the new development. More tenants are expected to be announced moving forward to fill the 50,000 square feet of retail and food and beverage space at Peabody Union.

“We are thrilled to welcome Moxies into the Peabody Union and South Bank community,” Ray Hensler of Hensler Development Group said in the release. “Moxies is fun, elevated and relaxed and will be the perfect gathering spot for visitors to Peabody Union, residents of Olive and South Bank neighbors for everything from a festive dinner to happy hours to al fresco lunches. We love the variety it provides and the opportunity to deliver another new-to-Nashville concept.”
