Char Restaurant has more plans in the works for Middle Tennessee. The brand, which is part of 4Top Hospitality’s portfolio, is planning to open a 6,600-square-foot restaurant in 2027 at The Exchange development at 2305 Exchange Dr. in Murfreesboro, according to the Nashville Business Journal.

Char Restaurant, which launched in 2001 in Jackson, Miss., currently has four locations open. In addition to the Jackson location, there are locations in Memphis, Nashville and Huntsville, Ala. Earlier this year, 4Top Hospitality also announced a location on the way to the mixed-use development Canteen on Carothers in Franklin. That location is expected to open in 2026.

Char serves as “a Southern-style modern steakhouse offering USDA Prime and Choice cuts of meat, fresh seafood, home-style sides to share, and a selection of classic cocktails, wine and bourbon,” according to its website. The menu features cuts like prime rib, lamb chops, ribeye steak and prime New York strip, as well as seafood like sea bass, BBQ shrimp and pan-seared Atlantic salmon. It offers lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch.

The restaurant is also known for having a piano bar and nightly live jazz music.

4Top Hospitality launched in 2009, bringing multiple restaurant concepts to the Southeast. Other brands in the 4Top Hospitality portfolio include Italian restaurant Amerigo, Etch, Etc. and Jasper’s.

The Exchange development has been under construction in Murfreesboro and will bring both residential and commercial retail space to the community.
