Doughbird Pizza & Rotisserie is one step closer to opening its Nashville location.

Fox Restaurant Concepts, which owns and operates the restaurant, is applying for a Beer license with the city of Nashville for the Phoenix-based restaurant.

Fox Restaurant Concepts is owned by Sam Fox. The restaurant group also owns Flower Child, Fly Bye, The Henry, Culinary Dropout, Blanco, Olive & Ivy, The Greene House, The Arrogant Butcher, Zinburger, Wildflower, and FRC Group Dining.

Doughbird offers a “combination of savory pizza with unique ingredients like pastrami, gruyere, served alongside … free-range chicken,” according to Fox restaurant concepts’ website.

In a 2017 interview with Foodable Network, Fox said while pizza is a major part of the restaurant, the restaurant is focused on its chicken.

“It’s so simple and hits every mark,” Fox told the network. “Sometimes chicken can be unfairly categorized, and we are here to change that.”

Doughbird’s Nashville location will be at 4031 Hillsboro Pike. Other restaurants in the surrounding area includes The Bluebird Cafe and Shake Shack Green Hills.

What Now reached out to Mr. Fox, but he wasn’t immediately available for comment.
