The brand known across the country for its famous Nashville hot chicken family recipe is the newest name in the long lineup of restaurants joining the recently renovated The Factory at Franklin.

A grand opening date is currently unknown, however, it’s likely to open later this year in the late summer/fall months.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken currently has 10 locations, making the Franklin outpost their 11th.

The hot chicken empire originally started in Williamson County when patriarchal founder Nick Bishop Sr. opened the first family restaurant under the name Bishop’s Meat and Three in 2007, where he started serving the famous fried chicken before Hattie B’s opened in 2012. It’s said that Bishop’s helped to perfect the family’s hot chicken recipe prior to Hattie B’s existence.

The original Bishop’s Meat and Three, which still operates at 3065 Mallory Lane #115 in Franklin, won’t be located too far from the newest location of Hattie B’s at The Factory.

“We chose The Factory for two reasons: we love the character and soul of the building, a determining factor for most Hattie B’s locations, and Franklin is a special place for us,” Nick Bishop, Jr. originally told The Tennessean.

The Factory at Franklin currently houses many local favorites such as Five Daughters Bakery and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Formerly a stove manufacturing plant, the 1920s-era factory is being redeveloped by Allen Arender of Holladay Properties to bring the historic landmark into a new era with upcoming eateries like etch and The Skylight Bar

It’s expected that the menu at The Factory outpost of Hattie B’s will offer all the favorites that customers line up to order, such as the hot chicken sandwich, dirty bird fries, pimento mac and cheese, and banana pudding.
