A new restaurant and bar is heading to The Nations. Maggie’s Place will open this fall at 905 51st Ave N., according to a release.

The new spot comes from an experienced Nashville hospitality team, including Ian Byars of Sonny’s Patio Pub & Refuge, Steve Perdue and Jacob Forth of neighborhood bar Perfectly Fine, personal chef and hospitality investor Edward Lipnickas, and Rob Buck of Savager, LLC.

The forthcoming restaurant will offer a lunch, dinner and late-night menu. Byars and chef Javier Bonacic of Subculture Urban Cuisine & Cafe are crafting the menu. Expect to see items like tacos, mesquite wings and quesadilla pockets.

The beverage program, overseen by Forth, will focus on island-themed cocktails and beer by the pitcher and bucket.

“Maggie’s will be an amazing place to step into a vacation mindset with island drinks and draft beer, which we will offer as individual servings or large format,” Forth said in the release. “Everything about the food and drink menus is thoughtful but aren’t too serious. We have dialed in the things people enjoy, and are building a festive, laidback space for all to enjoy.”

Good Spirit Painters is heading up the interior and exterior design of the space. In addition to indoor seating, there will be an outdoor area with fire pits, games and large TVs for sports and event viewing.

“This property is a neighborhood gem, and we are planning to use the entire indoor and outdoor space as an amenity for those who live, work and play here,” Byars said. “The term ‘neighborhood bar’ gets tossed around often, but our goal is to give our neighbors what they’d like to see in The Nations – great food, great drinks and an easygoing atmosphere. Bring your dogs, watch the game on TV or play some games in the yard. We’ll be family-friendly every day before 7 and transition to an adults-only atmosphere later.”

An exact opening date will be announced in the coming weeks.
