Jessica Simpson is bringing her flavorful chicken to a 975-square-foot space at 811 Dickerson Pike. Simpson, who operates Nettie’s Spicy Chik food truck, will be making the leap to her first brick-and-mortar location for the brand.

Simpson told What Now Nashville that she wants to open up in a brick-and-mortar spot so she can be more available and accessible to her customers, as the food truck lifestyle lacks consistency and she often gets asked by customers why she is not out in the food truck more often.

“[My chicken] has a good down-home Southern flavor to it, and everyone just seems to love my food,” Simpson said. “That’s why I decided if I want to be more available to my customers, I should get a brick-and-mortar.”

At the brick-and-mortar location, customers can expect to see Simpson’s popular spicy chicken alongside other Southern cuisine. Simpson describes her chicken with the motto, “It’s not just hot, it’s spicy.” The flavor in her chicken is what she views as the differentiator for the Nettie’s Spicy Chik brand.

Menu items will include wings, tenders, pork chops, baked beans, coleslaw and Simpson’s signature seasoned fries. She is also hoping to add fried corn on the cob and onion rings to the lineup.

The space will serve mainly as a takeout and carryout spot, though it will also house six to 10 small tables for dining in.

Simpson is targeting a Nov. 1 opening along Dickerson Pike, as construction is still to come on the space. Eventually, she hopes to expand to more locations in the area, with the goal of opening three to four more locations in the next five years.

“I’m looking forward to bringing a good, loving, clean atmosphere where people can come and enjoy some really good chicken,” Simpson said. “I tell everybody I cook with love, so they will get the love through the chicken.”
