Buddy’s “tiny tonk” is heading to The Arcade development at 230 Rep. John Lewis Way N.
The bar is a nod to musicians, taking its name from acclaimed fiddle player Buddy Spicher, co-owner Jamie White told the Nashville Business Journal.
The team behind the new bar is not new to the downtown Nashville scene. Micah Copeland, Shaun Folad and Corey Ladd are the other members of the team. They all have ownership in bars such as Pearl Diver, Good Times Full Service and Tiger Bar.
The space for the new honky-tonk concept will be 900 square feet. While there will be no live music, the team is designing it to be a hangout spot for musicians and music industry professionals. The ownership team hopes to focus on offering a space downtown that will appeal to locals as well as tourists.
The design will include old photographs of Spicher, hardwood and vintage touches like stained glass lamps, according to reporting by the Business Journal.
Buddy’s will offer a limited bar snack menu, but it will largely focus on a cocktail menu and beer offerings. Customers will be able to bring food from other spots at The Arcade into Buddy’s to enjoy.
Buddy’s is expected to open in early 2025.
