The owner of Thai Esane has opened another concept in East Nashville.

Nina Singto opened the doors to her new restaurant Bar East on Tuesday, November 16.

Bar East is a southeast Asian restaurant with a hint of Hispanic cuisine. The restaurant has both a bar program and a culinary influence cocktail program.

“I just wanted something different in East Nashville,” Singto told What Now. “I wanted downtown to come to East Nashville … because what I brought here is what you can get downtown as well.”

In its culinary influence cocktail program, staff members use culinary fundamentals and techniques to build cocktails.

“We’re definitely very kitchen focused,” said Manager Ashland Ghaffari. She added that many of the programs will be built behind the scenes in the kitchen, before they’re executed in front of the restaurant.

“We have a lot of these a lot of like different ingredients that most people wouldn’t use in a cocktail program,” she added. “We tried to focus on sustainability, and using like organic things as well to get you know, color and textures and different things that we’re looking for in cocktails.”

East Nashville was the ideal location because of the community, Ghaffari said.

“Everyone’s very close,” she said. “It’s a little bit more accepting.”
