According to Murfreesboro Pulse’s article, while an exact address and opening date have yet to be confirmed, P.F. Chang’s currently has five Tennessee locations, including Chattanooga, Franklin, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville.
The origins of P.F. Chang’s can be traced back to the early 1960s when co-founder Philip Chiang stepped up to manage his family’s restaurant. Drawing inspiration from his family’s traditional Chinese recipes, he ventured into the realm of culinary innovation, leading to the establishment of his restaurant, Mandarette.
His initial goal wasn’t to build a global brand, but fate is said to have had other plans when he crossed paths with a man who would become the “P.F.” in the restaurant’s name: Paul Fleming. Paul, a successful restaurateur and an ardent patron of Mandarette, was so captivated by the simplicity and purposefulness of the dishes that he wanted to share them with a wider audience. With a simple handshake, P.F. Chang’s was brought into existence.
Today, P.F. Chang’s is described as standing as the first globally recognized multi-unit Asian culinary brand that pays homage to the art of wok cooking, placing it at the heart of the guest experience. While rooted in Chinese cuisine, the menu has expanded to encompass the diverse flavors of Asia, embracing the culinary traditions of Japan, Korea, Thailand, and beyond.
Every item on the menu is said to embark on a unique journey of flavor, whether it’s a meticulously crafted cocktail, a sizzling wok-fired lunch bowl, or a sumptuous multi-course dinner. Across the world, P.F. Chang’s proudly operates more than 300 restaurants in over 20 countries, including select U.S. airports. The brand continues to grow, with a rising number of P.F. Chang’s To Go locations offering the convenience of takeout and delivery services, according to the company website.
